Freely, the free streaming platform powered by PSB, is expanding its reach significantly. The platform has partnered with Philips and JVC, making Freely available on their new TV models. This partnership, brokered by Everyone TV, covers selected 2025 Philips TVs and JVC models sold at Currys stores throughout the UK and online. The agreement with manufacturer TP Vision for Philips TVs, combined with the existing partnerships, means Freely is now accessible on TVs representing half the UK TV market.

Paul Slater, Senior Buyer at Currys, commented: “We’re excited to bring Freely to the JVC TV range, giving customers even more flexibility to enjoy the content they love. By adding this free-to-use platform to our affordable JVC range, which is available exclusively at Currys, we’re continuing our mission to help everyone enjoy amazing technology.”

Beyond the hardware expansion, Freely is introducing several new features. These include the Backwards TV Guide and Never Miss, launching later this month. These additions join the existing My List feature. A deal with Barcelona-based operating system Titan OS further solidifies Freely's position in the market.

Sarah Milton, Co-Chief Product Officer at Freely, stated: “We know viewers love watching live TV and catching up with their favourite programmes soon after broadcast, so we’ve made it even easier. Our new features—Backwards TV Guide, Never Miss, and My List—make finding, saving, and jumping back into great content effortless, whether live or on demand. Freely keeps evolving, offering premium features for free that other streaming platforms don’t have. And now with Freely becoming available on a wider range of new smart TVs, even more households will be able to enjoy this enhanced free streaming experience.”

The Backwards TV Guide addresses the significant portion of catch-up viewing that occurs on the same day as the live broadcast. Never Miss proactively highlights upcoming, current, and recently missed programs, also showcasing on-demand options. Philips Ambilight 2025 TVs featuring Freely will be available from May.
