MSNBC is finalizing its schedule changes announced earlier this year. Details are emerging about three panel shows under the “The Weekend” brand, and Jen Psaki's new show taking the 9 p.m. slot four nights a week.
"The Weeknight", hosted by Symone Sanders-Townsend, Michael Steele, and Alicia Menendez, debuts May 5, 2025, at 7 p.m. eastern. It will air for one hour Tuesday through Friday, expanding to two hours on Mondays. "All In with Chris Hayes" continues Tuesday-Friday from 8 to 9 p.m., but "Inside with Jen Psaki" ends its weeknight run to make way for Psaki's new 9 p.m. show.
“The Weeknight” will use a modified version of “The Weekend”'s design, featuring blues, violets, and magenta. The distinct “n” logo element remains, but the show's key art suggests a design based on lines and circles.
Psaki's new show, "The Briefing with Jen Psaki," debuts May 6, 2025, at 9 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. The show retains elements of “Inside,” including the beige outlines of the Washington, D.C., street grid and sans serif typeface. The names “Inside” and “The Briefing” are fitting given Psaki’s background as President Biden's press secretary.
"The Weekend: Primetime", featuring Jonathan Capeheart, Eugene Daniels, Jackie Alemany, Ayman Mohyeldin, Catherine Rampell, Antonia Hylton and Elise Jordan, will debut May 3, 2025, alongside the morning edition of "The Weekend". The primetime version uses a dark gray background and a color palette focusing on reds, greens, and blues.
Studio locations are yet to be confirmed. "The Weekend" currently uses Studio N5 in NBC’s Washington, D.C., bureau. “The Weeknight” might air from various spaces at 30 Rockefeller Center, including Studio 3A or 3AW. "The Briefing" might stay in Studio N1, given its similarity to "Inside."
The network's plans could change due to Comcast’s planned spin-off of its cable properties, including MSNBC, into SpinCo. MSNBC plans a separate Washington, D.C., bureau and Manhattan offices and studios.
